The Ophelia Corset, inspired by John Everett Millais’ painting “Ophelia”, is made from dead stock silk fabric and mesh overlay. The flower appliqués were also hand painted by the designer. Van Scott the Label incorporates fine art techniques into their designs accentuating the idea of fashion as an artistic investment. The designer hopes to promote further conversation about quality over quantity by creating detailed, unique, and long-lasting pieces that can be cherished within someone’s personal wardrobe.
